Bank of England, Cyril Patrick Mahon, 10/-, £1, 'parchment pair', 28 November 1928, serial numbers A01 000021, 10/-, red-brown, medallion of Britannia at left, value at right, reverse, two 10/- value tables set among swirls of acanthus leaves in shades of red-brown, £1 green, medallion of Britannia at left by Daniel Maclise, originally used for high denominations from 1855, reverse, bank of England prior to rebuilding, with a presentation vellum envelope inscribed "Bank of England 22 November 1928."
