Cambodia, Khmer Republic, obverse printer's model for 1 riel, ND (ca. 1970s), serial number 000000, Angkor wat style statue at left, two water buffalo pulling carriage at right,
(Pick Unlisted), in PMG holder 64 Choice Uncirculated, unique and rare. After gaining independence from France, banknotes were issued by 'Banque Nationale du Cambodge' up until 1975 when Khmer Rouge closed the bank and abolished currency altogether. This printer's model was likely a proposed design for plans to issue banknotes under the Khmer Republic Government.
