Anne (1702-1714), Pre-Union, Halfcrown, 1703 TERTIO, draped bust left, plain below, rev. cruciform shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, angles plain, + • + • DECVS • ET • TVTAMEN • | ANNO • REGNI • TERTIO downwards on edge, 14.94g, 6h (Spink 3579; ESC 1357 [568] [R4]; Murdoch [1903] 872 = Slaney I, 175; Hamilton [1979] 315; Manville [1980] 197; Kaufman 1894; Adams 491), a classic Halfcrown rarity, with a rich cabinet tone further accentuated by orange-blue flashes in deepest recesses, a pleasingly good very fine, and hence one of the finest extant, extremely rare especially in this state, in NGC 'Francis' holder, graded AU53 (Cert. #5878643-008)
