Russia. Nicholas II (1894-1917). In Honor of General Aleksey Nikolayevich Kuropatkin. Plaque. Bronze, 39 x 50.6mm. Uniformed bust of the general facing, head slightly right, ?EHEPA??-A???TAHT? above, laurel branches at lower sides. Kuropatkin served as Chief of Staff during the 1877-1878 Russo-Turkish War, and as Minister of War, 1898-1904. He was relieved of command after the Russian Defeat at Mukden. Some spotting and light discoloration on blank reverse.
