A Generall Historie of the Netherlands. "Newly Reserved, Corrected, and supplied with sundrie, necessary observeations omitted in the first impression." London: A. Islip, 1627. Thick folio (8 by 12 3/4 inches), dark brown calf, raised bands, gilt on red title. Some wear and splitting of the cover is apparent, but the text pages are quite decent. Second edition in English. One of the large and influential historical works produced by Edward Grimeston, who also published histories of France, Spain, and Venice. "Largely a translation of the Grande Chronique of Jean Francois Le Petit, and with illustrations that originally appeared in this work, many of them signed by Christoffel von Sichem… the continuation of the history is derived from Historia Belgica nostri potissiumum temporis by Emmanuel van Meteren".
