Great Britain. Sudan 1884 Operations - Battles of El Teb and Tamaai, Afghan Campaign, Long Service & Good Conduct Group to Corporal John Lilley, 10th Hussars. Afghanistan, 1878-1880. No clasp (1080 LCE. CORPL J. LILLEY, 1OTH RL. HUSSARS); Egypt, 1882-1889, no date. One clasp: "El-Teb-Tamaai" (1081 CORPL J.LILLEY, 1OTH RL. HUSSARS); Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. Victoria - oval Arms and military trophies (1080 SERGT. J. LILLEY 10/HUSSARS); and Khedive's Star, 1884. Lilley served from 1870 to 1891. His service in the Afghan Campaign of 1878-1879, included the assault and taking of `Ali Musjid, He was entitled to the clasp, though it is not with his medal. On ribbons. The first two lightly polished, the Egypt, fairly heavy obverse contact marks. Includes copy of his military history, with medical record, and Egypt roll entry.
