1853-D. $2 1/2 Liberty. PCGS Genuine, VF Details, Filed Rims. Dahlonega Mint was established in Georgia as a branch mint by an Act of Congress in 1835, and produced gold coins only, from 1838 through 1861. Only 3,178 pieces were issued. Despite the "Details" label, this is a quite decent looking example, and deserves serious consideration.
