Great Britain. Royal Berkshire Regiment Officer's 1878 Pattern Spiked Helmet. Victorian-Edwardian period. Black cloth body, regimental frontplate in gilt brass, silver motto ribbon, silver stag and oak against red cloth, Brass spike atop on cruciform base with rose on each arm. Cloth-backed chin straps secured by rose bosses. Tan leather sweatband. Some of the inside green visor lining missing, small split on two seams, two tiny holes near top and small scuff on visor. Overall Very Good. Ex Hammatt Collection.
