Issued to and signed as president and again on verso by Thomas A Edison. Small eagle at bottom, brown, pen canceled through the Edison signature on front (signature on back unaffected). The stub reattached. Some edge wear and toning present. VF.+. While Thomas Edison was not considered a profound scientific genius, he had a tremendous talent for applying scientific principles to practical applications. In 1876, while experimenting with a needle attached to a telephone receiver, Edison discovered a method that reproduced sounds on a wax cylinder, and thus the recording industry was born. Beautifully matted and framed so that the signatures on the front and back can both be seen. An image of Edison, and a plaque stating "Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration" are included.
