National Airlines, Incorporated (Florida) 1939. St. Petersburg. 100 shares. Issued, cancelled. No.368. Green. Organized in 1947, National Airlines began operations in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1934 using two second-hand Ryans. During World War II National operated contract schools for pilots, mechanics, radio operators and navigators. By 1944 National was a major airline with non-stop service between New York and Florida. In the 1950s National leased Boeing 707 jets and became the first domestic operator of jets in the United States. Goes, printer. VF+. Small punch hole in the left margin, and an ink notation in the upper right corner. Very light water stain near the bottom. Still one of the nicest examples we have seen.
