Louis XIII. King of France (1610-1643). At 8 1/2 became monarch, Marie de' Medici , his mother acted as regent. DS. 3 pages. Tied together, heavy wax seal suspended. January 9, 1625. Signed "Louis." There is an approximately ¼" hole in the first pages.

In 1617, Louis exiled his mother and executed her followers. By 1625 the royal feud had become public knowledge. In this document the king removes Jean de la Borde, personal guard of the queen-mother, and sends him to the south of France, to be guard of the park of the chateau de Nerac. A rare opportunity to obtain the autograph of the monarch who established the Academie francaise, and put an end to the revolt of the French nobility.
