George IV. King of Great Britain, Ireland and Hanover (1820-1830). ALS. 2 pages. 4vo. February 7, 1810. To Lady Keith. Written a year before he would become Prince Regent, due to his father's mental illness.

I really am so ashamed at my seeming neglect, in having so long delayed answering your most kind… note, that I really know not what to say in mitigation of my crime, or what apology to make to you: but the plain truth my dear friend is, that I have for the last three or four days been overwhelmed with a quantity of business of considerable importance to myself which for the time, left…everything else out of my brain. I hope that I need hardly add, how happy I shall be to obey your kind summons for Saturday…I am at all times with the highest regard, Dear Lady Keith, our most sincere friend and humble Servant." Signed "George R."
