Glyn, Elinor (1864-1943). British novelist and scriptwriter who wrote romantic fiction considered scandalous for its time. She had tremendous influence on the careers of Hollywood stars such as Rudolph Valentino, Gloria Swanson and Clara Bow. ALS, 7 pages, 8vo. 12 Hartford St., Mayfair, London. "October-26." Glyn writes to "Al," an American camera man of the "first quality." She says she will never make another picture in England, complaining that "…the very low class English producers and Exhibitors - mostly Jews…" are fearfully jealous of anything American. She suggests that "The Great Moment" would make a good talkie, and mentions that her leading lady, Elisa Landi, is going to Paramount. Good content pertaining to the movie industry, worth a premium bid.

From the collection of Diana Herzog.
