1916 Medal, reverse privately engraved 'J. Byrne. A. Coy. 1st. Batt.', with integral top riband bar; General Service Medal 1917-21, combatant's version with Comrac Bar, reverse privately engraved 'J. Byrne, "A" Coy 1st. Batt Dublin Brigade', with integral top riband bar; Emergency Service Medal 1939-46, 26th Battalion reverse, two clasps, unnamed as issued, with integral top riband bar, good very fine, together with the recipient's 1916 Armband and 1932 International Eucharistic Congress Armband (3)
John Burne served during the 1916 Easter Rising in 'A' Company, 1st Battalion, Dublin Brigade, Irish Volunteers as part of the Four Courts Garrison, and subsequently during the Second World War with the 26th Battalion, comprised of veterans from the 1916 Uprising.
