N. M. de Rothschild & Sons, a fine bill of exchange (first), London 18[91], signed 'N.M.Rothschild' but by whose hand we are unsure, addressed to Em. Fenzi & Co. in Florence, 'N.M de R' and coat of arms at left, black, red embossed duty stamp; together with an interesting letter, entirely manuscript, from Rothschild at New Court to Lady Strafford informing her that the their agents in America have sold shares in the Baltimore & Ohio Railway on her behalf, signed 'N M Rothschild & Son' possibly in the hand of Lionel de Rothschild; a cheque dated 1919, interestingly printed 'NOT PAYABLE ON SATURDAY', red embossed reveue stamp plus additional 1d adhesive stamp as the duty of cheques had recently risen from 1d to 2d, and, a specimen Travellers Cheque for £20, circa 1960, multicoloured coat of arms, green, hole cancelled, an interesting lot all related to the London Rothschilds, fine to very fine.
