ND (1945-1946) ARAMCO Four Sovereign Gold. 0.9419 Troy ozs. fine gold content. Eagle surrounded by text which reads "U.S. Mint Philadelphia - USA. The gold content is stated on the reverse. These coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint a short while after World War II and may have been used to pay the Royal Family for oil rights, or perhaps to pay workers in the oil fields. This higher denomination is much more difficult to find than the One Sovereign piece. Almost Uncirculated.
