A large British company owning the famous silver mine in the State of Hidalgo employing some 350 Cornishmen. It was they who apparently introduced football to the country. British capital flowed into many South American countries following their Independence from their Spanish conquerors, some 300 or so companies formed during the 1820´s alone.
