The Gold Mining Company. (WV). Muni Mountain, Mohave County, Montana. 1895. Issued to Robert E. Bradley from an office in Washington, D. C. Printed by A. Gadney. 750 Shares. No.944. IU. Gold and green. Impressive 14 1/4" x 7 1/4" format. A view of the mine site in a valley, rendered in metallic gold ink, in the upper right corner. The rest of the certificate is graced with a map of the Music Mountains and vicinity, also printed in metallic gold ink. Near the top center, just to the west of Shipman Peak are the two mines associated with this company's endeavors - the Ellen Jane, and the Tommanotto. The names of these two mines appear at the sides of the certificate in the end panels. On the map, the U. S. Mail Route connects the mine to the Atlantic & Pacific Rail Road at Hackberry. Hualapi and Truxton also appear along the route of the A. & P. R. R. IU. VF+.

The early activities of this company were mostly limited to prospecting, but the company was reorganized in 1892 and was then able to process 700 tons of ore at their mill. In 1915 Lucknow and Music Mining Company took over most of the mining operations in this area.

Easily one of the most attractive Western mining certificates ever offered at auction, and this is only the second example seen by this cataloger in three decades.
