Beach Pneumatic Transit Co. (NY), unissued certificate for stock or bonds, New York 187-, signed by A.E.Beach as President, prculiar vignette of boat-like railway cars with sails, black, with counterfoil, AEF.

The first attempt at building an underground railway in New York, Beach created a pneumatic system under Broadway in 1869 and sold rides to the public to test the system. Despite its initial success the company failed to get the necessary permissions to expand the system ans investment funds were restricted following the stock market crash of 1873.
