Enola Gay crew, Hiroshima, U.S. World War II Pilots, Aviation. Lot of Covers signed by three principal members of the Enola Gay crew, which dropped the atomic bomb on Hirsohima: Colonel, later Brig. Gen., Paul Tibbets - pilot, Capt. Theodore "Dutch" van Kirk - navigator, and Major Tom Ferebee - bombardier. Six covers all postmarked Sep. 2 1945. Three with 'VJ', two with 'Gen. MacArthur' and one with 'Japan Surrenders' cachets. The three crewmembers sign in blue and black ink in strong hand; also: Doolittle cachet envelope, postmarked Apr. 2 1982 signed by Paul Tibbets, (Gregory) Pappy Boyington - WWII ace with 28 kills, and Scott Crossfield - test pilot who worked on the "Saturn" program; an 8x10 Color Photo of the 'Enola Gay' signed by navigators from both missions: Van Kirk - Hiroshima and Russell E. Gackenbach - Nagasaki; an 8x10 Color Photo signed by the A-4 Crew, 393 Bombardment Squadron, 509th Composite Group, and an 8 x 10 B&W photo of the original "Sloppy Joe" photo of crew member of the 509th Composite Group.
