A letter from the Land Department of the railroad is also included.Leland Stanford was American financier, politician, and railroad magnate who financed and promoted the Southern Pacific and the Central Pacific Railroads, completing the western link of the transcontinental railroad. He was Governor of California, and founded Stanford University in memory of his son. Stanford´s autograph is virtually unavailable on bonds and shares.
