Large notes on this bank are in demand for two reasons. One is the association with the Ivy League university located in this town. The other is the Napier/Thompson signatures, which appear on the notes of relatively few banks which chartered or re-chartered during the 8 ½ months of Napier and Thompson´s joint tenure.
