Near consecutive issues for "Indian Purposes", generally the amounts being for services rendered and goods furnished. Given Texas´ weakness, the government did what it could to pacify the Indians with gifts and trade goods in lieu of expensive punitive expeditions. A historic quartet that illustrates early Indian relations in Texas.
