New Jersey. March 25, 1776. £6. Fr. NJ-183. No.822. PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ. Watermarked "NEW JERSEY." Low serial number 822 out of only 3,125 authorized. The signatures of Jonathan Johnston, John Smyth, and Robert Smith are bold. The red and blue colors are quite vivid, and the text and design elements are crystal clear. The paper quality is excellent. A scarce and desirable note in this lofty grade, with more eye appeal than many Uncirculated examples we have seen. David Rittenhouse, who engraved part of the plate for this issue became the first director of the U.S. Mint. A truly stunning note!
