Pharmacist Consolidated Mining Co, 5000 $1 shs, Cripple Creek, 1899, #48, signed by James F Burns as president and Charles N Miller as secretary, and issued to and signed on verso by AD Jones, black and orange, perforation cancels, edge soiling and wear, fold wear, VF. When the Western Federation of Miners went on strike in 1903, James Burns was one of the only mine owners who decided to come to terms with the workers instead of trying to break them. For his trouble, his mines were forcibly closed by armed vigilantes hired by the Mine Owners Association.
