International Printing Telegraph Co (NJ), $10 shs, 1886, #873, allegorical woman with printing telegraph and shield with Benjamin Franklin amid scene of US Capitol, train, and Franklin´s kite experiment, black and green with "Parent Company" underprint and "issued for property purchased" overprint in red, uncanceled, stain in right margin, fold wear, VF. The first printing telegraph was invented in 1846 using piano-style keyboards; by the 1880s, much more sophisticated and reliable systems had been developed; almost from the beginning, the technology was used to deliver real-time stock quotes, a method that was not abandoned until the 1970s.
