Rolls-Royce of America Inc (DE), Thirty $100 shs preferred, 1928, #O2696. helmed woman with sword and lion, ships in distance, orange, ABN, uncanceled, fold wear with minor edge nicks, good VF. In 1921 Rolls-Royce announced their intention to build cars in America using British mechanics under the supervision of British management. $7,000,000 was authorized for the project and by 1931 a total of 2,944 Rolls-Royce automobiles had been manufactured in America. Sometime around 1935 the last one rolled off the production line in Springfield and the company went into bankruptcy, another victim of the Great Depression.
