Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd, 18 shares, Walkerville (now Windsor), Ontario, 1906, #94, signed by Henry Ford as president, black, red paper seal, manuscript transfer on verso, light red pen cancel not affecting signature, stub reattached left, about VF+. Henry Ford (1863-1947) revolutionized manufacturing with his large-scale assembly line system, and was the foremost auto-maker of his time. Initially controlled by a small group of investors, by 1906, Ford Company of Michigan and its partner across the Detroit River, Ford Motor Company of Canada, were both under Henry Ford´s personal control. Ford quickly adopted a strategy that would lead to one of the greatest manufacturing successes of all time: the Model T. While other automotive pioneers wanted to offer highly diversified product lines and sell more expensive cars, Henry Ford strove to develop a single model that could be manufactured efficiently and sold at a price that everyone could afford. Ford´s theory worked brilliantly, right up to the early 1920s.Only 16 of these certificates are known, and to the best of our knowledge, there are no early Ford Motor Company of Michigan certificates available outside of the Henry Ford Museum Collection - making this a rare opportunity to collect the ultimate signed automotive stock!
