West Shore RR Co (NY), $1000 4% bond, 1919, issued to EHR Green, trustee of the estate of Hetty HR Green, boats on the Hudson River, orange, ABN, punch cancels, about VF+. Hetty Green (1834-1916) was the first woman to become an independent force on Wall Street, turning a $7 million inheritance into over $100 million; she is best remembered as a notorious miser, and when her son, Edward - the trustee to whom this is issued - broke his leg as a child, his millionaire mother tried to have him treated at a free clinic; as a likely result, his leg was later amputated.
