Pullman´s Palace Car Co (IL), $100 shs, 1881, Chicago certificate, issued to Marshall Field and signed by Horace Porter as vice president, Plenty flanked by St Pancras Station and Detroit Pullman Car Works, orange, punch cancels, stub reattached left, soiling, minor wear, good VF. Marshall Field (1834-1906) founded the great Chicago department store (now a chain) that bears his name; he became one of the city´s greatest benefactors, helping found the University of Chicago and the Field Museum.
