Michigan Central RR Co, $5000 5% bond "secured by first mortgage of the Detroit and Bay City Rail Road," 1881, #1060, issued to George W Vanderbilt, train at platform flanked by farmer and Agriculture, brown, punch cancels, matted with transfer signed by George W Vanderbilt, overall VF. George W Vanderbilt (1862-1914), the youngest son of William H Vanderbilt, let his older brothers run the family´s business concerns; he is remembered chiefly for the incredible Biltmore estate he had built in North Carolina. He transfers the present bond to the Vanderbilt Clinic of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New York.
