1879-CC 1 Dollar. NGC MS63. Among the most sought-after dates in the Morgan dollar series, the 1879 Carson City issue has a middling mintage of 756,000, but after the Government Services Administration had dispersed hundreds of thousands of Treasury-stored Carson City dollars in the 1970s, and relatively few carried the 1879 date, the scarcity of the date, and more so Uncirculated specimens, was confirmed. The present specimen, reaching the coveted Select tier, maintains a crisp strike with lustrous fields that maintain full luster with underlying shimmering flash. A light ring of pastel color halos the obverse legends and confirms originality. An undeniable opportunity to obtain an elite dollar.
