Ossining Trust Co (NY), Bank checks, a few also on the Ossining NB and Ossining NB & Trust, 1920-35, all signed by Warden Lewis E Lawes, most with vignette of bank building, generally VF+. Lewis P Lawes (1883-1947) was warden of infamous Sing Sing prison in Ossining, NY, a post he held for 20 years; his efforts at reform changed it from one of the grimmest penitentiaries in the country into one of the most progressive.
