Blockade Runners: Chicora Importing & Exporting (SC), $1000 shares, January 9, 1863, #228, on blue paper, blockade runner top, palmetto bottom, loan and repayment note in red pen across face, fold wear including some discoloration, with light tape repair on verso, otherwise about VF. This company made money for its investors and at one point the stock price rose to $10,250 per share. It ran two steamers that completed 18 trips through the blockade. Also includes a desirable Stereoscopic Photograph of blockade runner Chicora, published by Union View Co of Rochester, NY. The boat is shown on the ocean, with a partly obstructed caption in negative at bottom of image, "1863 Steamer Chicora Noted Blockade Runner". Some spotting, but VG.
