1916 (23 Dec.) 5c. postcard, uprated with overprinted 5c. and 40c. affixed on reverse, registered from Tabora "Via Mombasa" to Paris, cancelled with "b.p.c.v.p.k./no 1" double-ring d.s., Elisabethville and London Registered d.s. in red, the additional adhesives cancelled with "Tabora" double-ring d.s. with a further strike on face together with red registration label with typed "Postes Mil/Legerpost no 1", Albertville c.d.s. and French registration cachet in violet dated 15 March; an unsual item sent via the Congo route despite the manuscript directional marking.
