1890 (c.) 1/2a. forgery in maroon on thin wove paper, the design somewhat similar to the 1/4a. postcard and showing the head of its author and engraver, Cothundarama Naidu, self-syled the "Emperor of the Universe and Governor of the World". Very rare. PhotoF Estimate £ 150-200 Note: The "Emperor" was charged in Madras in April 1892 with counterfeiting Government Postage Stamps but was aquitted as being of unsound mind. Apparently some 30 or 40 examples were used
