Four examples (cut small) on 1854 (4 Oct.) envelope from Calcutta "Overland via Southampton" to London", each cancelled by diamond of dots and showing boxed "india/paid", arrival c.d.s. (23/11) alongside and, on reverse, G.P.O "Octr" d.s. and manuscript "resealed received torn". A very rare letter dated on the day of issue of the adhesive. B.P.A.
