Auction: 3012 - Great Britain Postal History & Stamps featuring the Motty Weinstein Collection
Lot: 93
1840 MULREADY 2d. letter sheet, a97, in a deep distinct shade, used from Ireland to Great Malvern, showing superb strike of the black "ballinasloe" 'Spoon' (Irish type) cancellation dated 30 September 1858 at lower-left (contrary to regulations) and given the placement it seems certain that whoever applied the cancellation seems to have been attempting to avoid placing it over either the address or the printed design; some minor perimeter creasing or soiling but in no way detracting from the wonderful appearance. A very rare and most unusual example. Photo
