POSTAL HISTORY England, Scotland and Wales 1851 (7 Dec.) small neat lady's envelope (patented type with maker's name embossed on flap), addressed to "Richard Trotter Esq. of Mortenhall" and inscribed alongside "Post Town Liberton or Edinburgh not certain which", bearing 1841 1d., EL, good to enormous margins, tied by extremely fine strike of the black "131" between stars numeral, the reverse with red Edinburgh, blue Liberton and green Corstorphine datestamps; a charming and most attractive item.
