†Provincial Penny Post 1840 1d. plate II, PF, margins all round, on entire addressed to Henley in Arden, tied by light strike of the red Maltese Cross and two light, good to fine strikes of the blue framed "Py.P/No.15", the reverse showing corresponding straight-line "handsworth" in the same colour blue and red Birmingham double-arc despatch datestamp of 31 May 1840 (last Sunday); flap at right trimmed away, address panel with some slight postmark ink offset but well clear of the adhesive.
