George III, Restrike Proof Penny, 1806, by W J Taylor after Kuchler, struck in copper, small laureate and draped bust facing right, flaw on drapery, date below, wreath of 11 leaves, riband with 2 loops and 2 loose ends, 10 jewelled brooch, K. on shoulder, beaded border both sides, georgius iii. d: g. rexrev. struck en medaille, from a repolished current die, Britannia seated to left on rock amidst waves, olive branch of 11 leaves and 3 berries in right hand, left hand clasps trident with shield, two horizontal lines below hand, K and soho absent, ship with incuse gunports sailing to left, britanniarum above, edge,plain (Peck 1349 R96 R), struck from same dies as previous lot but with different die axis and perhaps later, due to less sharp detail in striking, some lustre on obverse, reverse toned, practically as struck and rare Estimate £ 100-150 Herman Selig Collection part II, Spink Auction 131, 2nd March 1999, lot 1310
