The only London mint half-ryal overmark recorded by Blunt & Whitton is sun over crown, type VIII(B), recorded from a single example in the British Museum. Both the obverse and reverse dies of this piece are hitherto unrecorded and the overmark appears to be, if anything, crown over sun
