Edward III, pre-treaty period, Noble, 7.64g., London, series G(a), king standing facing in ship, holding sword and shield, reads franc d hybe, c for e in edward and rex omitted, rev. floriated cross with lis at ends, large e in centre, reads ihc autem tranciens, small/large annulet stops, annulet before cdward, m.m. cross 3 on rev. only (LAL dies AU/2; Schneider 40 (same dies); N.1179; S.1490), lightly scratched round edge and small knock at 11 o'clock, otherwise a neatly struck coin, almost extremely fine, a very rare variety omitting REX Estimate £ 1,250-1,500
