Danseur et chorégraphe, Angelin Preljocaj est né en France en 1957, de parents albanais. En 1980, il s'installe à New York et travaille avec Merce Cunningham. En 1985, il crée la Compagnie Preljocaj, qui devient 1996 le Ballet Preljocaj. En 1990, il s'associe avec Enki Bilal pour présenter Roméo et Juliette de Serge Prokofiev, à l'Opéra de Lyon : le dessinateur signe le décor et les costumes de ce ballet.

Angelin Preljocaj is a French dancer and choregrapher of Albanian descent . In 1980 he moved to New York where he trained with Merce Cunningham. In 1985, he founded his own dance company "Compagnie Preljocaj" which became "Ballet Preljocaj" in 1996. He frequently worked in collaboration with artists and in 1990 he commissioned Enki Bilal to design the set and costumes of the ballet production "Romeo and Juliet" by Prokoviev at the Opéra de Lyon.
