McKinley, William Twenty-fifth President of the United States (1843-1901, served from 1897); assassinated by an anarchist His clipped Signature "W. McKinley," with the signature "Ida S. McKinley," but signed by him on her behalf. Both seem to be from the same document. The telltale feature of the ersatz signature is the "K" of her last name, which the President separates as he does his own signature, while hers was always written in a wholly different style. Fine.
