1861 "Hidalgos"
Guadalajara. ½r. Black on Brown, spectacular block of six, bottom margin missing, the stamps applied overlapping the upper edge of the cover, creating a crease affecting three stamps, though this matters little given the rarity of this block on cover, on an attractive cover from Guadalajara to Colima dated 1861 (August 16), paying 3r. for ½ ounce beyond 16 leagues. A very rare multiple on cover. NF $500 for a used block of four off-cover. Cert. MEPSI (2026). Scott 6.
