1840 One Penny Black
Plate 1a
GA, full sheet margin at left with part inscription "Back be careful not" and good margins elsewhere, affixed upside-down and tied by well struck Maltese Cross in red to 1840 (13 May) large part entire letter to Dublin; the reverse, which folds out well for display, is struck with 13.05 and 14.05 d.s. A remarkable usage, contrary to regulations, at a very early date; some weakness along folds of letter, discreetly reinforced, and a most attractive item. B.P.A. Certificate (2013)
