A Unique Variety Among the Four Known Examples
1913, 10pa. green (Turkey, 1901 inland mail, Michel 87), impressive variety displaying the overprint in red, unmounted with original gum, well centred with good perforations for this notorious gem, showing a balanced and clear impression of the overprint and an overall remarkable freshness. According to the certificate, “a few tiny foxing spots are mentioned for completeness’ sake”, entirely negligible and in no way detracting from this unique piece. Of the four recorded examples of this stamp -one of the three rarest values of Albanian philately-, this is the only example known with the overprint in red in the normal upright position. Unlisted in the catalogues either as a regular stamp or as a variety, and offered here for the first time on the public market. A sensational discovery. Cert. Otto Graf (2026).
