(x) Austrian Levant & Ottoman Postal Interaction in Albania (1869-1870)
1870 (Nov. 26). Cover to Venice, sent stampless to an Italian destination without the required Ottoman franking, and therefore without the application of Austrian stamps to avoid any potential conflict with the Ottoman administration. Bearing Antivari c.d.s. at left and charged on arrival with 70 centesimi, paid with postage due 1869 10c. and 1870 60c., tied by "Venezia-Arrivo" ( 29.11) d.s. A very rare mixed franking and a very scarce example of correspondence from Antivari charged on arrival.
