1862 (17 May) stampless letter to Rolle, Switzerland showing, on the reverse, a superb strike of Kyakhta type 4 c.d.s. (Hellrigl) overstruck by some transit c.d.s., many transit marks including framed "Aus Russland/Franco" in red, boxed "PD" in black (crossed through), boxed "schweiz/n.t.t" and several manuscript rate marks applied en route with the arrival c.d.s. (12.7). A charming cover and a rare early letter, there are thought to be about ten covers bearing the Kyakhta c.d.s., this being a very early date of use. Photo
